An article I’ve written on Charnwood Street from the 1920s to 1970 has just been published in the Leicestershire Historian, the journal of the Leicestershire Archaeological and Historical Society. There should be copies of this in local libraries, but the journal is also available price £10 including p&p (cheques payable to LAHS) from the Honorary Librarian, Leicestershire Archaeological and Historical Society, The Guildhall, Guildhall Lane, Leicester, LE1 5FQ.

For details of the other contents, and the full text of an article on ‘Leicester’s refuge for Basque children from the Spanish Civil War (Part 1)’ by Richard Graves, see http://www.le.ac.uk/lahs/downloads/LH52_RGraves_pp3-10.pdf.
